"The rich get richer and the poor get — children." (The Great Gatsby, P.92)

In the Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald reminds us of just how much coorporate greed is being exposed in our current atmosphere and how much, we as a society, have allowed and have come to accept how much our social and economic stature defines who we are as people, which creates boundaries among our society that leads to a lot of psychological issues, making it more difficult for one to move up along the social ladder. This painting by John Bennington reminds me of the perpetual cycle, that exists in America, in which the rich get richer and poor remain poor.
